| I find it amusing that conductors want everyone to be looking at them when they're on the podium, but as soon as they step down, get squeamish about seeing videotape of themselves. I don't like watching these clips, but I know that people often want to see what a conductor looks like "in action," so here they are. Professional orchestras generally aren't too keen on being videotaped, and even in those cases where permission can be secured, the practice is usually seen as, well, unprofessional. Accordingly, all of my videotaped work is with the Pomona College Orchestra. For examples of my work with professionals, please visit the audio clips page. For these video clips to be of any use, I couldn't degrade them too much. To avoid having absurdly large files, I kept the length of each to about a minute each. They are in WMV format, 10 MB or less, and should stream fairly well for anyone with a fast (DSL or comparable) internet connection. Most likely the results with a dial-up connection will not be satisfactory -- sorry about that. Elgar: "Enigma" Variations, excerpt from variation I (C. A. E.)
